Community air coolers: cool your public buildings without heavy construction work

From administrative centers to high schools and multi-purpose halls, public facilities face regular heat peaks in summer. Compared to conventional air conditioning, the community air cooler offers a number of solid advantages. Discover them with FoxAir, expert in adiabatic solutions.

What are the challenges of cooling multi-family buildings?

A top-of-the-range professional air cooler must meet the needs and constraints of local authorities. These are threefold:

  • public comfort ;
  • compliance with ERP standards;
  • respect for budget lines.

The mobile adiabatic cooler for public spaces is a high-performance, cost-effective solution. It combines ease of installation, energy efficiency and flexibility.

What solutions does FoxAir offer for cooling public buildings?

Adiabatic cooling uses the principle of evaporation to cool ambient air before returning it to the room. No complex circuits or refrigerants are involved. They are therefore environmentally friendly.

To maintain a pleasant temperature in hot weather, there’s no need to oversize equipment. Our range of mobile adiabatic coolers includes six models capable of cooling spaces of up to 500 m².

Installing an adiabatic cooler in a public facility doesn’t require any major renovation work, nor does it require the premises to be closed to the public. The unit has a water tank and is simply plugged into the mains.

The proof is in the pudding: how do you refresh a municipal sports complex?

Here’s a typical FoxAir project. It involves a building with an open space for around 20 agents, as well as a public reception area. The problem was as follows:

  • summer temperatures above 30°C ;
  • an old, poorly insulated building;
  • the impossibility of air conditioning due to cost and architectural constraints.

Our aim is to improve the comfort of staff and users, quickly and without major works. To achieve this, we recommend the following installation:

Two compact mobile units

distributed around the perimeter of the open space, with directional air discharge

A reception unit

agent and queue oriented

A mobile unit

moved as required

The result is threefold: -5 to -8°C, a clear improvement in comfort and fewer complaints during heatwaves.

When it comes to cooling public buildings, adiabatic technology is a simple, fast solution that doesn’t require heavy investment.

FAQ

On average, our devices consume 4 W/m², almost ten times that of an efficient air conditioner.

No, the exclusive Brushless motors make it one of the quietest cooling units on the market.

According to RT2012 decrees, adiabatic coolers are not subject to the requirements of article 32 of the decree of August 04, 2021. They do not allow premises to be classified in external stress category 2.

This technology perfectly meets the three objectives of the new regulations applicable to new buildings (energy efficiency, reduced carbon footprint of buildings, guaranteed coolness and comfort in hot weather).
