How does the professional adiabatic cooler work?
The adiabatic mobile cooler is directly inspired by natural evaporation. The principle is simple: when warm, dry air comes into contact with a moist heat exchanger, it is cooled and redistributed with a significant temperature difference.
Simply fill the water tank and plug the air conditioner into the mains. The unit’s fan draws in dry, hot air, passes it through a filter moistened with water from the tank to evaporate, then redistributes it once cooled.
The cooled air retains optimum humidity levels without condensation. The system’s efficiency increases as the air becomes hotter and drier.
What are the practical applications of adiabatic technology?
FoxAir is proud to prove the system’s effectiveness with a case study: the EDF Tricastin power plant.
- Context: during the summer, from June to September, temperatures can reach 60°C in certain work areas on the site.
- Objective: EDF’s priority is to regulate the temperature in the machine room.
- Solution implemented: following a technical study, we recommend the installation of four FoxAir 48 air coolers covering around 500 m².
The result lives up to the customer’s expectations. We achieved a significant reduction in ambient temperature and a marked improvement in operator comfort. Adiabatic cooling also helped maintain optimum operating conditions for the turbines, even during summer heat peaks.
