Cooling large surfaces: what are the solutions?

There are several solutions for bringing fresh air into a large business premises. The first, of course, is to install a complete air-conditioning system. In some buildings, it is also possible to divide surfaces into several smaller units – via partitioning, for example – to facilitate the installation of mobile air-conditioning equipment, particularly in a commercial environment or during renovation.

However, these solutions are not always ideal. On the one hand, the work required for this type of project can be very costly and time-consuming, especially in an old or poorly insulated building. Such modifications can temporarily interrupt your company’s activity or force your teams to reorganize their premises. What’s more, these installations are not necessarily adapted to the reality of many professionals. If temperature rises are occasional or seasonal, investment in conventional air conditioning may not be appropriate.

For professionals looking for a fast, flexible and cost-effective solution, FoxAir recommends the purchase or rental of a mobile adiabatic cooler. This type of device is perfectly suited to the constraints of businesses, whether located in Paris or elsewhere, and enables us to respond effectively to our customers’ thermal comfort needs without having to undertake major works or make lasting changes to the structure of the premises.

Adiabatic cooling: how does it work?

This easy-to-move unit operates on an ecological principle that’s perfectly healthy for the environment. Imagine a basin filled with water, and now imagine warm ambient air coming into contact with this water. This contact triggers evaporation, reducing the air temperature and slightly increasing the humidity level in the space concerned.

That’s how a cooler works. Simply connect it to a power line and a water supply, and it’s ready to go. Thanks to a large water reserve – sometimes several dozen liters, depending on the product – this system can operate autonomously in your offices or any other indoor space, without the need for complex or invasive air conditioning.

A mobile air cooler is therefore an excellent solution for fitting out your business premises or renovating an existing environment, while complying with safety and ventilation standards. It can be moved to the hottest areas according to the needs of production or occupancy. Whether in a workshop, a warehouse or an area open to the public, it guarantees a healthy, ventilated and temperate environment, appreciated by customers and staff alike.

A significant reduction in indoor heat has a direct impact on employee comfort and productivity. Working in a temperature-controlled environment means better compliance with workplace safety conditions, while reducing the risks associated with excessive heat. To help you make the right choice, we invite you to request a personalized quotation based on your ventilation and layout requirements.

Too much heat on the premises: what are the risks?

The use of an industrial adiabatic cooler allows you to deal with two risks in particular:

  • fires: hot, dry air is ideal for starting fires. Some products (especially those used in the printing industry) catch fire easily in this context.
  • electrocution: just as it can start a fire, hot, dry air “charges” metallic materials with electricity.

In both cases, cooling and humidifying the ambient air avoids these risks.

Mobile air cooler: which model do I need?

It all depends, of course, on the size of your premises and the temperature. Foxair offers four machines with performance tailored to the needs of professionals. Fan diameter varies, as does motorization. The air flow is more or less powerful, and the water reservoir more or less large.

As an indication, our FOXAIR 18 model can cool up to 90 m², and the FOXAIR 48 up to 370 m².
