How does adiabatic cooling work?

Foxair offers a full range of industrial air cooler operating on the principle of adiabatic cooling. Discover this ingenious yet simple system here. Find out more about the advantages of our air coolers and use cases from leading brands.

How does an adiabatic air conditioning system work?

The operation of our air-conditioning systems is quite simple. It’s based on a natural phenomenon: hot, dry air is cooled when it comes into contact with a moist heat exchanger. The principle is based on the evaporation of water, a typically adiabatic process. The ventilation system diffuses the cooled air into the room or warehouse, and draws in the surrounding warm, dry air, ensuring a continuous flow of natural cooling.

These natural cooling devices help maintain a balanced humidity level, without excessive dampness. Thanks to this system, the temperature is effectively lowered without the use of refrigerant gas, making it an environmentally-friendly solution. Each cooler provides powerful cooling while keeping energy consumption under control, for lasting thermal comfort in spaces subject to intense heat.

This type of solution can be used in conjunction with CMV or other air treatment systems, to improve indoor comfort in an environmentally-friendly way. Operation relies solely on the use of water and a low-power electrical system, guaranteeing a constant flow of fresh air in professional areas, without complex installation or excessive energy consumption.

The advantages of Foxair adiabatic coolers

Our coolers are a great way for companies to save money. Indeed, the cost of the machine is very affordable. Over the long term, their water and electricity consumption is also very low, improving the overall energy efficiency of the building or premises equipped.

Foxair also scores points for ecology. The brand’s air conditioners use no refrigerants. Nor do they generate greenhouse gases, as they operate on an adiabatic principle: a natural cooling process through evaporation. This type of solution is equally well-suited to homes and large professional spaces, such as industrial premises, production rooms or intensive work areas.

Comfort is the order of the day, since, as mentioned above, they enable optimum humidity levels to be achieved for large volumes. This humidity control contributes to the thermal well-being of users and the stability of the working environment. Each unit is based on a moisture exchanger, which plays an essential role in regulating temperature and humidity.

Mobile, they can be placed as close as possible to work areas. Their practicality is also reflected in their ease of use. They don’t need to be installed on complex networks of ventilation ducts, nor do they require professional maintenance. In just a few minutes, the module can be up and running. Simple accessories such as filters and castors ensure rapid handling, and a product data sheet is available for each model.

Their quality is also intrinsic. They are made of top-quality parts, in stainless steel, aluminum, etc. These products integrate perfectly with different types of thermal solutions, and can operate independently or as a complement to an existing reversible system.

Evaporative air conditioning: applications

Leading brands trust Foxair products. Hermès, for example, used our adiabatic fans in their luxury bag manufacturing workshop. Their objective was to maintain an ideal temperature for working with skins. Another example is Bio-Rad, who wanted to protect their sensitive drugs from the slightest temperature variations.
